While iOS users have enjoyed sculpting their own civilizations in Godus for quite some time, DeNA and 22cans have now announced the launch of the popular building game for Android users. As the name suggests, players basically act of God, as they create various landscapes and environments for which their people will live in. The way you sculpt your surroundings will determine the success of your civilization, helping it to grow or ultimately leading to its demise. While other building games, such as Minecraft, have proven the popularity of this style, Godus focuses not only on creating your very own world, but also places much greater emphasis on the effect your creations will have on civilization.
Using push and pull controls, players can manipulate nearly every aspect of their surroundings, moving mountains where they wish or creating canyons if they so desire. DeNA and 22cans have also ensured that the ever popular concept of social gaming has been incorporated into this already popular title, allowing players to visit and explore their friends’ worlds. As mentioned previously, what you create will influence your inhabitants greatly and once your first dwelling is established, you can expect your population to grow immensely.
“Our goal when we set out to create Godus was to provide gamers with a captivating and deep gameplay experience that constantly grows and evolves. We’ve learned an incredible amount in the first three months of the game being available to the world on the App Store. So we are happy to say that the version of Godus today on Android devices and iPhone, iPad and iPod touch is one step closer to fully realizing our vision for the game,” said Peter Molyneux.
If you’re yet to check out this marvel on iOS you can still get it in the iTunes App Store, while it’s now available for Android users from Google Play.
