One of the most influential lists to be included on is that of the Top Publishers of the past year. Yesterday, App Annie released their Top Publishers of 2014 results, backing it up with some impressive stats, which will definitely get you thinking about the future and whether you need to change your gameplay strategy if you want to make it onto this infamous list in 2016.
The below list incorporates the revenue generated across both iOS and Android devices on a global scale, determining who ranked as the best publishers for the year.
When comparing the results from last year and the Top Lists from the app stores over the past twelve months, it’s no surprise to see Supercell and King sitting pretty as the top two publishers of 2014 (both gaining one chart position from the previous year).
If you’ve been following the news from the mobile industry over the past 12 months, you’ll also know that quite a few of the industries East Asian publishers have made their intentions clear, regarding moving into a larger position, with game releases on a global scale. While the number of US publishers featured in the list remained the same over the past 24 months, App Annie revealed an increase in the amount of East Asian publishers now featured as the top competitors for 2014.
The 2014 list above also showcased 18 new publishers, who had not previously made the cut in 2013. Rovio made 51 games before releasing Angry Birds, which shows us that you need to dream big and never give up – persevere through the hard times and you just may reach the App Annie Top Publishers List in 2016!
