Recently launched to the app stores is the new web browsing and shopping app Zurf. The app looks to eliminate the need to send a link to a friend in order to get their opinion on a product and completely socialises the users shopping experience. Users are now able to attach a zNote to a piece of text or image on the site and discuss them with other users.
The application also offers a Web browser to enable users to browse and search content. When users come across something to take note of or discuss with others, they will add a zNote and send the item to friends. The chat thread then appears as an overlay to the page after the invited friends have tapped on the note to launch the website within Zurf. It is here where the users can then type about whether they like or dislike the content, or even add comments.
Zurf also offers the functionality to send the zNotes to those who do not already have the app. This will send the recipient a link to open the zNote in a regular browser, then also invite the non-user to download the app.
For easier browsing or later down the track, users are encouraged to add the item to a category. As the zNotes accumulate users can browse via website or names of the invited parties, or search through the categories they made.
Users are able to earn Zurf points and badges when they engage with the app. Zurf has hopes to later turn the points system into a reward system offering discounts on various sites. Zurf is available for download on both the google play and the itunes app stores.
