It’s an exciting time for Australia’s newest game development start up Prettygreat who claim that they have received their first round of funding from some very special partners. The Australian mobile games start up has reportedly been backed by Crossy Road’s game developers Hipster Whale in an early round of funding. It has been said that the company received a staggering $500 000.
Prettygreat comprises of top players from Halfbrick, the mobile studio. You might be familiar with Halfbricks hit games such as Joyride, Fruit Ninja or Jetpack. Andy Sum and Matt Hall from Hipster Whale will soon become advertisers and stakeholders in the company. After much success with Crossy Road after seeing over 90 million downloads in six months, it’s no doubt that Hall and Sum will bring great expertise to the company.
Former Halfbrick employees including Hugh Walters, Luke Muscat and Phil Larsen funded Prettygreat back in February and things are certainly looking promising for them. Larsen, the Chief Marketing Offices says that there will be great design excellence and smart innovation in the upcoming titles, which are due to be announced soon and released sometime this year.
Larsen says “We want to bring Australian development to the forefront, so hopefully this will go some of the way helping there,”.
