In my humble opinion, but also backed up by the latest records of 2013, endless running games have become an absolute phenomena in the mobile gaming industry, mainly in part to their addictive nature and quirky in-game challenges. While the concept of an endless running game is simple, it’s the characters, personal modifications, daily challenges and leader boards that set one apart from the rest. According to Inside Mobile Apps, Evil Droid Studios have combined the ever popular endless runner with another gaming favourite – all things science fiction.
The latest sci-fi endless runner is set to launch in the New Year as the developers first ever mobile gaming application and will be released on both iOS and Android devices. As with most endless runner’s, the competition will be fierce in “Hyper Havoc”, with personal scores up for comparison on a world-wide leader board. If you’re more into mobile gaming for the fun side of things and would prefer to leave your competitive nature at home, the game also brings a range of personal challenges to each player, by adding the excitement of enemies, space ships, mines and other weaponry throughout the levels.
As with most mobile applications, the more challenges you face and the higher your score rises, the more chance you have of upgrading your ship for better handling and manoeuvring – or simply to be more aesthetically pleasing. Collecting coins throughout the endless runner, players can modify the paint type of their vessel, upgrade their steering and even increase their speed capability. Unlike many other endless running games, a player’s ship can take multiple hits before being destroyed and players even have the option of continuing their game once they have failed their ‘mission’, for a small in-game price. Hyper Havoc is available through App stores for just $0.99c and is sure to be one of the games to watch in the charts this year.
