Early next week will be the ChinaJoy 2015 tradeshow that is expected to draw 250 000 gamers to Shanghai. It be will held in over 100 000 square meters of exhibition space at the exposition centre in Shanghai. In comparison to Americas biggest game trade show, the Electronic Entertainment Expo in Las Angeles had 52 00 people attend.
With China’s mobile gaming market growing by a staggering 93 percent at $2.9 billion one can only expect the popularity of the event to be overwhelming. The countries gaming market is expected to grow to $22 billion by 23 percent in all sectors of the games in 2015. For the overall game business, that rate of growth compares to just 9 percent. It has been said that the instability of Chinese stock prices has led the slowing of growth this year.
There are a number of different publicly trading gaming companies making a name for themselves and Tencent has become one of the largest. Western companies such as Supercell and Kabam are also investing a lot into the Chinese market.
There have been a significant amount of acquisitions and investments amongst gaming companies keeping the industry moving as the more mature markets growth slows down. At the event there will be a number of various industry leaders.
