Earlier today it has been announced that the online commerce giant eBay will be discontinuing several of its mobile apps. The primary app, eBay will still remain live however many of the other apps will soon retire. Their intention is to eventually see features of these discontinued apps within the core eBay application.
It is a big tactic to simplify the shopping experience and the company will be shutting down Motors, Valet and Fashion apps to move their key features to the primary app.
In the coming weeks, the Valet app will shut down, however buyers and sellers can still experience the same service at eBay. The eBay Fashion app will be retired in the coming weeks and the eBay Motors app will be exhausted later in the year. Through this transition, the best features will be integrated from the Motors app into the core eBay apps.
The delivery service called eBay is said to be ending as well. Previously, eBay piloted its delivery service in Brooklyn, however the delivery will continue to be tested in the UK and the company will work to provide a larger scale solution around it.
Although some of eBays apps are soon coming to an end, iOS users are encouraged to download the core eBay app from Apples iTunes Store as it will be integrated with all the great features of these apps in the near future.
