Officially launched is the new visual fashion search engine app by Donde Fashion for iOS devices. Rather than text phrases, users search the app via visual prompts. With over 6000 brands and retailers including the likes of Zara, J. Crew, Barney’s New York and Banana Republic the app has millions of accessories and women’s clothing available.
To initiate a search, users will select the various items they are interested in such as handbags, tops, shoes or dresses etc. They are then able to customise their results filtering by feature or colour. For example, if a user searches for a white dress, they can then filter by skirt length or specific necklines. In another instance, when a user searches for a bag they can filter by bag size.
The search results update in real time as they select filters. At any stage of the search shoppers can start to browse products or change and add filters to view more items. The filters are also provided in brand, price or occasion. Additionally, the app offers the functionality to only view items that are on sale.
Users have the option to view search results one at a time, or in a large collage. There are information buttons within the app that allow for users to see product descriptions in more detail. When a user wishes to purchase an item, they simply tap the ‘buy’ button which opens up to the retailer’s website while still staying within the app. There is also a ‘wishlist’ option for users that are fond of an item, but are not yet ready to purchase. Once the item goes on sale, the shopper can be notified.
Liat Zakay, the CEO and founder of Donde Fashion said it a recent statement “Donde is more than a search engine, it’s a resource that improves shoppers’ lives by drastically reducing the frustration and time that occurs while sifting through items online. Zakay continued “We’re excited to introduce a better way to search through Donde, and to offer women a tool to find exactly what they want.
Donde Fashion is available for a free download from the iTunes App Store.
