Launched globally for Android devices is the Truemessenger app by Truecaller. The app is designed to replace a user’s standard texting app aiming to filter spam messaging and identify unknown numbers.
The app is integrated with a network of 1.7 billion global numbers with Truecaller. It aims to identify the numbers of people who have contacted users by filtering from their database. Truemessenger will gain content and information from social networks to then assign nicknames and photos as well as other contact information to the incoming text messages.
Using filters such as country codes or keywords, users are able to assign spam filers to their messages. They are able to be blocked all together, or be delivered to a spam folder. These numbers can then be flagged in the hopes of assisting the entire community in blocking out these messages from being delivered.
Alan Mamedi, the CEO and co-founder of True Caller said in a recent statement “We are in the middle of the Wild West in terms of spam messages we receive on our mobile phone, and despite the evolution of services in other areas, little has been done to curb the number of spam messages we receive on a daily basis. With Truemessenger’s global rollout, we’re bringing you the combined power of our global community with information from your own personal networks so you’ll never again have to worry about anonymous numbers.”
Truemessenger is available for a free download from the Google Play store.
