Recently launched by the London-based app development studio Mana, is the anonymous, location based messaging app Thoughts Around Me. The app allows people to chat with others anonymously and post pictures and message to their current location.
The social network is ultimately an anonymous messaging app that allows users to post straight after they install the app, without having to sign up or input any identifiable information.
Additionally, Thoughts Around me supports animated GIFS, photos and text sharing. By swiping left or right on each post, users can vote on each piece of shared content. Tapping on the post also allows users to post and view comments. To keep things private whilst commenting, users can activate a ‘secret’ button that only allows the original poster to see the comment.
Regardless of location, two additional tabs enables users to view trending and new content while the default feed shows content that is posted close by to the user. There is a map included in the app which allows users to browse for posts in any location.
There is a ‘My TAM’ portion of the app that allows users to track the threads of their thoughts or comments. Users are able to subscribe to posts and receive notifications when new content is available even if they haven’t commented.
Mahdi Yahya, the CEO and co-founder of Mana said in a recent statement “Anonymity gives people back control over their thoughts and encourages free speech We’ve found that if you give people a place they feel safe, they will allow their ideas to grow and most importantly begin to trust others and accept their support.”
Thoughts Around Me is available for a free download from the iTunes App Store.
