eBay has recently announced that it has revamped its Android and iOS apps as a version 4.0 update. It has been said that the newest version of the app offers a more personalised and simplified user buying and selling experience. It also offers a newly updated and redesigned dashboard.
For the buyers and sellers, the home screen now offers three personalised channels. The ‘activity’ feed offers users the functionality of viewing recently viewed products, watched items as well as an overview of their ‘for sale’ listings and active bids.
Secondly, the ‘shop’ feed shows a list of personalised product suggestions across various categories. Users are able to browse through lists of topics such as collectibles, vehicles, electronics, fashion and more. In addition to the curated lists users can browse through more categories by swiping left of the ‘shop’ tab.
Lastly, the ‘sell’ channel offers user’s tips for selling their products within the marketplace as well as offering the tools needed to list an item for sale and also manage their product listings within the application.
The chief product officer at eBay, RJ Pittman said in a recent blog post “eBay 4.0 is a significant step forward for eBay that underscores our commitment to the multi-screen world we live in today. It represents an exciting new starting point from which we aim to drive big innovation across all the devices our customers like to use—both in our look and feel, and the underlying technology platform we are creating for the future.
The eBay mobile application is available for a free download from Google Play and the iTunes App Store.
