In more recent times we’ve witnessed quite a few developers releasing games exclusively for iOS users through the iTunes App Store. In many cases, if the game receives great reviews and achieves significant download rates, developers then rerelease the game on Android devices. What we’ve seen with Scurvy Scallywags, however, is one rerelease with a difference. While iOS users paid $1.99 for the game when it was released into the iTunes App Store, Beep Games have decided that Android users will be able to enjoy the 4.5 star rated game for free from Google Play!
After playing the game myself, I can see why it has proven to be so popular amongst iOS users and I’m sure that Beep Games will achieve the same success across Android. Incorporating the ever popular three match game style, with a classic RPG donning musical elements, gaming developer veterans Ron Gilbert and Clayton Kauzlaric have only made Scurvy Scallywags more enticing by theming the game with pirates and treasure. The game sees players making three match moves across their board to progress throughout the levels and move their pirate into a prime battle position.
Unlike many of the more traditional three match games that can be found throughout both App Stores, Scurvy Scallywags offers users that much needed variety and creativity that many games of 2014 seem to be lacking. If you’re an Android user and want to check out the latest from Beep Games, head to the Google Play Store where you can download Scurvy Scallywags for free – like they say, patience is a virtue (and in this case, it’s better for your wallet too!).
