I hate to say it, but yes, my love hate relationship with King continues, as I once again become addicted to one of their new release apps. The second installment of the popular Bubble Witch Saga has only been available in the App Stores for a few weeks, but in true King style, it has already achieved phenomenal download results. As with the first game, Bubble Witch 2 is available across Facebook, iOS and Android devices. Many similarities can be seen between the sequel and the original, but there are a few fun new features that have given the game a fresh look.
Unlike the original, Bubble Witch 2 is played on a portrait view, rather than on a landscape view (which is obviously created by turning your mobile device on its side). This is one of my favourite changes to the game, because while it may seem like a small game, it does wonders for convenience and makes it easier to play the game with one hand (makes for easier gaming on public transport, etc.). The graphics of Bubble Witch 2 are also a step up from the original, with brighter colours, more emotive faces and smoother lines.
As with all of the games in the King franchise, you can expect to be bombarded with the opportunity to make some in-app purchases that will ultimately help you to complete a level or give you a whole new set of lives. There’s a few new styles of games in Bubble Witch 2, which is a nice refresher for players who were becoming a bit tiresome of the original.
All in all, King have done it again, by producing a game that is aesthetically pleasing, fun to play and, of course, addictive.
