Adobe has made a recent announcement that it will be removing its Photoshop Touch app from the app stores on May 28. To date, Adobe has a grand total of over 50 apps however the software company will shift its focus to the improvement of the other popular apps such including Abobe Brush, Adobe Shape CC, Photoshop Sketch and Photoshop Mix.
Rumours stated that the Photoshop App was a tough sell in today’s competitive market, mainly due to the out of pocket expense of $10 that users were forced to fork out. Although $10 is not a lot of money, it is however quite steep compared to competing apps that are continuously hitting the stores for free. The most recent major update was in 2012 for Touch, and Adobe has since announced Photoshop Mix as well as Ink and Slide drawing accessories. It doesn’t stop there though. There is also a mobile version of Lightroom as well. It seems that the company has generated a big mobile push focusing on a range of apps specific to different tasks, rather than one all-rounder like Photoshop Touch.
Much like most mobile apps that are discontinued, PS Touch will continue to work, however will not be available for download in Google Play and Apples App Store. Furthermore, there is good news in that we should see some more modern Adobe apps become available for Ios and android by the end of 2015.
