While we’ve seen Rovio experiencing significant downsizing in recent weeks, it seems as though the iconic mobile game developer is not ready to give up on its number one franchise just yet, as the release of Angry Birds Transformers is announced for iOS devices. The first ever installment of Angry Birds took the world by storm, followed by a number of spin offs which proved to be nearly as successful as the original, however, Rovio has finally realised that the epic saga needs a bit of an update if it is to maintain the success it’s seen over past years. Keeping this in mind, prepare yourself for the next generation of Angry Birds, as you embark on a clash of Angry Birds, Transformers and an endless runner.
In a recent press release, Jami Laes (Executive Vice President of Games) stated, “With Angry Birds Transformers, we created a totally new action packed gameplay experience, where the player gets to jump into action either on their feet or on wheels. This is of course just the beginning and there’s more to come! As with all of Rovio’s games, there will be exciting updates with new content and features coming in the future.”
The release of the latest in the Angry Birds saga comes as Hasbro announces a new range of toys for the game. In Angry Birds Transformers, users will “run” through the objective based levels, playing as their favourite characters who can change from bird to machine. Familiar Angry Birds aspects will be noticeable in the new game, as players aim to break through the featured strongholds at strategic points.
While iOS users can now download Angry Birds Transformers from the iTunes App Store, Android users will have to wait a few more weeks, as the game is set to be launched into the Google Play Store on October 30th, 2014.
