Taking the Gen-Y and Gen-X gamers for a trip down memory lane, where they begin to reminisce about ‘the good old days’, players of the latest story mode game Episode will be able to choose their own adventure (yes, just like your favourite childhood books)! With various options of ‘which door to open’ or ‘which path to choose’, the choice you make will ultimately affect the story that your character experiences. Episode is brought to players by the same crew who made Pocket Gems and plans to bring interactive stories to life on mobile devices.
If all goes to plan for the developers, users will fall in love with the drama of the story and be captivated at how it affects their characters – couple this with users having the ability to influence the outcomes of the game and industry sources are saying that a whole lot more than just the market of mobile gaming will open up for the makers of Pocket Gems, who have, up until this point, been limited to the mobile industry (because, you know, who doesn’t want more than access to an already profitable $16 Billion industry after all!).
Adding a further touch of retro to the game play, when characters converse and make decisions about which path to choose in the game, comic book style speech bubbles appear on the screen – another trip down memory lane. Keeping in mind that this game has initially been created for iOS and Android mobile devices, players can choose to simply take part in mini stories, or chapters, which will generally take no longer than 15 minutes to complete – perfect for users on the go. Players also have the option of getting a little more interactive with the game, by creating their own stories – a feature of the game which was proven to be incredibly popular in the beta phase of game play.
Episode went live earlier this week and is now available through the Apple Store and GooglePlay – so if you feel like taking a step back to your favourite childhood memories, now’s your chance!
