Recently launched to the iTunes App Store is the GetClose messaging app for users to communicate with businesses. It allows users to receive timely responses through a chat option.
Rather than using standard phone calls, users can contact a business for any reason or ask the business questions via text. For example, users could ask a store about a particular product or a restaurant about an item on the menu. The exact location of the business is shown to the user and they are also help to view the Yelp score when available.
GetClose will also get in contact with the business to find out the relevant information for the user if they don’t already work with the app. In other instances, should the answer be available on the web, GetClose will search for the information to deliver to the user. So with both methods available the app endeavours to eliminate the need for users to get in contact with the businesses via phone call or find out the answers themselves.
Once a business’s sign up to GetClose, they receive a free SMS number for consumers to text without the use of the app. A set of free marketing materials are also provided to the business if they sign on to the service.
Brian Szady, the CEO and co-founder of GetClose said in a recent statement “ The phone call is dead. Communicating with businesses has not changed in over 20 years! With GetClose, connecting with a business is simple: send a message, get a quick response.”
GetClose is available for a free download from the iTunes App Store.
