2014 seems to be the year for developers all around the world to make the transition from social gaming to mobile gaming. While we’ve seen many companies attempt to make this change in the past, there have been only a few success stories, including well-known developer Wooga, with their games “Diamond Dash” and “Jelly Splash”. A fresh announcement by Gamesys, however, brings us the exciting news that they have recently launched the popular Facebook game “Here Be Monsters” on iPad devices.
While the game initially made its claim to fame on the social gaming platform, Gamesys says that “Here Be Monsters” is a mobile game aimed at the likes of console fans. Console gaming remains as popular as it did before the introduction of mobile gaming, but the technological advancements that have been made in more recent years allow top quality mobile games to please the hardcore consoles gamers out there. The developer relates the game play style, characters and quests to that of existing handheld games and says that “Here Be Monsters” should be a hit amongst lovers of “Pokemon” and “Animal Crossing”.
This highly addictive adventure games offers users more than 100 monsters to capture, from all around the world, and also incorporates similar features to those seen in Farmville, with players having to grow crops and other resources to further their adventures in the game. With more than 600 quests currently available in the game and new content updates added every fortnight, there are more than enough monsters to keep mobile users happy. Noel Hayden from Gamesys said “We’re really excited to launch Here Be Monsters on iPad and [we] are looking forward to seeing what audiences around the world think of the game.”
