Kitchology has released a cooking app, targeting users with special allergies or special diets using iOS devices.
Users are able to avoid items like dairy, peanuts or gluten and create a profile with these specific requirements. They are then able to use the app to search for various recipes without these items via a filter. Users can also search for recipes with the filter disabled.
Kitchology also allows for the functionality to search for quick meals or nostalgia, as examples. Users can still only see recipes that match their specific requirements. The recipes are listed with their directions and ingredients and users can add these ingredients to a shopping list within the app. The app plans to have a future update that allows users to substitute ingredients and in turn view more recipes.
Users can also flag ingredients that they already have available to search for recipes that include those ingredients. Once a user has selected a recipe, the users are given a step by step guide for the cooking process. Users can also add comments or photos to each step along the way. The dish can then be shared with friends once it is complete. According to a source, there are further enhancements of the app coming soon.
Kitchology is available for a free download from the iTunes App Store.
