When the talented minds of DeNA and Room 8 Studio come together, you can expect the end result to be something amazing. While this latest creation doesn’t break any of the barriers of traditional mobile gaming, the collaboration has brought about a puzzle game that is virtually flawless. The vast majority of the puzzle games found on both iOS and Android devices are less than perfect, with many leaving you debating whether the app was developed for gamers or simply just to make money for as little outlay cost as possible. Popcorn Party is a different story, however, and it’s like a breath of fresh air in the App Stores.
This logic-based puzzle game is a nice change from the usual three-match puzzle games featured in the charts, as players connect brightly coloured kernels to pop them and remove them from the screen. With more than 60 levels available (and inevitably further updates to come) the fun is endless with this new game.
What I particularly liked about Popcorn Party is that while instructions were given when first opening the app, the levels became increasingly difficult very early on in the game, rather than easily achieving a level 55 ranking like many of the puzzle games in the app stores. Players connect as many kernels in a 1-1-1 chain as possible, but will eventually need to make three lines touch the same kernel to pop the corn and make progress. The more kernels that are connected before popping, the bigger the bonuses and rewards. The key is, however, to make big bonuses while still coming in under your move limit.
While Popcorn Party is currently only available to iOS users, DeNA and Room 8 Studio have announced that their latest game will soon be launched in the Google Play Store for all to enjoy!
