With more than 35, 000 new games launched in the Google Play Store each month and iOS users having a whopping 1.2 billion games to choose from, it’s an understatement to say that the mobile gaming industry is a competitive one. This undeniably makes my job a little harder when trying to pick just the top 3 best games of September 2014 across both iOS and Android devices.
FIFA 15 Ultimate Team (iOS & Android)
Based on the “Ultimate Team” mode of the FIFA 15 console game, this latest FIFA mobile game has users everywhere excited about having access to the best mode in the game, right at their fingertips. While in past years we’ve seen mobile releases of companion style apps for players who have already purchased the console variety, September 2014 shines a bright new light onto the franchise, as we are given insight into new and exciting times for Electronic Arts.
Goat Simulator (iOS only)
While this may not be one of my personal favourites, it sure showed us how much the population as a whole loves to pretend they’re a goat. After the mind-blowing success achieved by the original Goat Simulator on PC, the developers decided to launch a version just for iPhone and iPad users, which sees players paying $4.99 to have the privilege of running around as a goat, causing as much destruction and mayhem as possible.
Five Nights at Freddy’s (iOS & Android)
If you’ve been searching for a horror game on mobile, but haven’t yet found anything that even slightly resembles scary, you won’t want to miss Five Nights at Freddy’s. This internet sensation sees you playing as the night watchman at a restaurant that has been overrun by frightening animatronic creatures that are creepily disguised as teddy bears. Hold on tight to your mobile, as this one will really make you jump!
There you have it, my top picks for September 2014. If you haven’t already downloaded these little treasures from the App Store, do yourself a favour and check them out today!
