Keeping on trend with making mobile devices more accessible to kids, the hit US children’s television show Space Racers has officially launched on iOS devices. The release of the new game coincides with World Space Week, with the creators collaborating with NASA to prove that kid’s apps can be more than just games. Combining education and fun can be difficult, particularly when your target audience is under the age of twelve. In saying this, however, Space Racers! really does bring audiences the best of both worlds, which is sure to keep both children and their parents happy.
While players take flight through challenging obstacle courses, racing their spaceships as fast as they can, they’ll also be learning about the science behind cause and effect. Travelling through the 8 different worlds, players will be faced with 32 levels that vary in difficulty. If you have a favourite character from the hit TV series, you’re in luck, as you’ll see appearances from Eagle, Robyn, Hawk and Starling.
In a recent statement, Richard Schweiger (Executive Producer of Space Racers!) commented, “We are delighted to offer our fans another platform to learn along with the Space Racers television show. The progressive challenges in the app complement the lessons communicated in each episode of the series and educational materials on the website.”
Whether your children already enjoy the television series or you’re just looking for an educational game that will please everyone, you can’t go past Space Racers!
This latest creation for the space age is available for free in the iTunes App Store and offers one great advantage to parents – there are no in-app purchases offered, so you won’t have to worry about sneaky purchases making their way to your credit card!
