Starbucks has now released the official Mobile Order & Pay function for Android and iOS users within the US. With this new functionality, users of the mobile app are now able to pay and place orders at selected Starbucks outlets in advance. This is a great move the company, saving time for customers on waiting in line at each store.
In December 2014, the app was tested in Portland which proved successful and led to the roll out in the US. Over 3400 stores across 17 states in the Pacific Northwest had access to the feature. The functionality is offered to users by more than 7400 company-owned stores in the US, allowing them to pay and place their orders.
The app works by allowing a user to select their Starbucks location and then search the menu for available items. The functionality offers nutritional information, pictures and more. Next, the user will enter their preferred payment method. Furthermore, there is a My Starbucks Rewards loyalty program on offer, so that regular buyers can generate great rewards through their in-app orders.
Adam Brotman, the Starbucks Chief Digital Offer said in a recent statement “We designed Mobile Order & Pay to be seamlessly integrated into the operational flow, for both the partners in the store and the customers in the store.”
The product is also due to launch in Canada and the UK as of October 2015.
The Starbucks mobile app is available for a free download from Google Play and iTunes App Store.
