Rovio has shown us that repetition is not always a bad thing, if you’ve got an initial idea that is more popular than anyone could have ever imagined. The Angry Birds series has brought us an array of basically the same game differing with various themes, with everything from Angry Birds Seasons to Angry Birds Star Wars. Now, however, it seems as though the game is branching out to reach an even larger audience, with the launch of Angry Birds Epic – the first RPG in the series.
This adventurous RPG will take players on a fun-filled journey, alongside favourite characters Red and Chuck. Angry Birds Epic is available on both iOS and Android devices, so players everywhere can get excited about the new wave of Angry Birds to hit the App Store. It seems as though Rovio have done something right again, with the new app already reaching chart topping positions after its recent release. While the never before seen RPG style has brought something new to the table for Angry Birds, you’ll feel a little familiarity as you begin the game, when it starts out with the birds’ eggs being stolen by the pigs… again.
If you’ve never been a huge fan of Angry Birds but enjoy a good Role Playing Game, you may just want to check this out, as Rovio have really stuck to their guns when incorporating traditional RPG elements. As you venture through the combat styled levels, you will not only unlock new birds, but you’ll also be able to collect new weapons and treasures along the way.
The new Angry Birds Epic if free to download and is supported by in-app purchases. There’s also a little bit of advertising that can become slightly annoying, but as with all good games, we tend to look past this.
