Toca Boca, the mobile children’s brand has reached a huge download milestone after having hit over a staggering 100 million downloads. Toca Life: City, the company’s latest app, was realised earlier in the year and offers children the ability to adventure through various locations such as their own loft apartment and shopping mall as they meet new characters along the way.
In March 2011, the company’s first two apps were released; Toca Tea Party and Helicopter Taxi which both proved to be a huge success. Following this, there has been another 26 more titles released by Toca Bota. They aim to offer unlimited gameplay and open up the children’s imagination. Before the apps reach the app stores each game is tested with children and the company has worked with over 1500 children so far.
Unlike a lot of other apps, the Toca Boca products do not include third-party advertising or in-app purchases. They are also gender-neutral. The top three apps for the company are Toca House, Toca Hair Salon 1 and Toca Hair Salon 2. Collectively, the apps are being used on over nine million devices monthly.
The CEO of Toca Boca, Björn Jeffery said in a recent statement “We are proud of this milestone and are excited to continue making digital toys that are fun and inspiring for kids. Reaching 100 million downloads in just four years speaks to the hard work of our team and the fact that both kids and parents recognize the quality of our products.”
The apps are available for download from the Apple’s iTunes Store and Google Play.
