In a recent interview with Venture Beat, CEO of the infamous mobile gaming legend Zynga, Don Mattrick, revealed his plans to ensure that Zynga steps it up a notch to gain long term leadership in the years to come. Over the past twelve months, since Mattrick has taken over as the CEO for the company, Zynga has not performed as expected, failing to reach many of their earnings targets for both the first and second quarter of 2014.
Mattrick is not worried, however, sharing with Venture Beat that they are playing for the long term and are on the verge of turning things around for the company, to ensure that the coming months are nothing shy of successful. In his recent interview, Don Mattrick stated, “We aspire to do better and improve execution across our business. We are in the midst of a multiyear transformation, and we are building Zynga and NaturalMotion against a growing market opportunity.”
The CEO of what is often recognised as one of the most powerful mobile gaming names in the industry continued by saying, “Our industry is growing at a fast clip in relation to iOS and Android. Our industry continues to have a large addressable Web audience and market opportunity on Facebook. For Zynga and NaturalMotion to realize our true potential, we need to grow in mobile and continue to build great products on the web. Our intention is to build games that fit the way consumers are playing across various platforms. That means, we will offer games that are mobile-only, web-only and connected between web and mobile platforms based on consumer play patterns.”
While Zynga has seen great success across Facebook gaming in the past years, the future looks exciting for both Zynga and mobile gamers around the world, as they announce this venture to improve the quality of mobile-only games on the market.
